ENGINEERING
HAS BEEN UPGRADED IN 2013!
RPI
has recently upgraded the Engineering Team's hardware and software
across the board, and expanded our capabilities for the future! Our
professional staff utilizes the most current and state-of-the-art
programs available, which are now running on high-powered 64-bit Dell
Precision T3500 workstations. We have increased our CAD and design
capabilities concurrently with our new production machinery upgrades,
allowing us to explore innovative solutions to ages-old sheet metal
issues and creative new ways to increase part quality while
decreasing manufacturing costs.
Our
Engineering Team is always prepared to take on any new project, from
individual parts to massive assemblies. We are equipped to perform a
wide variety of tasks, including:
RPI
has always facilitated a limited amount of product
design, but with our recent upgrades to both software and hardware,
we have extended our capacity for product design ten-fold. Since the
beginning of 2012, our Engineering team has worked with our customers
on dozens of new products across a wide spectrum of industrial
applications. We contribute a distinct advantage to our design
processes by applying our best cost and time-saving techniques to the
new products from start to finish.
- Pre-Designed/Existing
Parts Built-To-Print
RPI's
primary production services begin with our
Engineering staff's receipt of prints and/or CAD models for the
product(s) ordered. The part or assembly is broken down into its
basic components and the best manufacturing practices are determined.
Once the parts are ready, our Engineers create the programs for the
profiling machines and ensure that our manufacturing team has all of
the information necessary to get them through the production floor
promptly and accurately.
- Professional
Drawing Packages
In
the past decade, there has been a dramatic decline
in the quality and accuracy of the common CAD drawing packages.
Incorrect or incomplete information, conflicting or missing
notations, improper view selection... the list goes on and on, and
all of these things can halt the processing of your order and cost
you time and money. Our Engineering team can create
fully-dimensioned, clearly noted and accurate drawing packages for
your parts and/or assemblies to your specifications. Whether your
requirements are specified in millimeters or inches, ANSI, ISO or
"other", RPI can deliver drawings which suit your needs.
- Manufacturability
Analysis
Virtually
anything can be created within a 3D CAD
modeling system, but the feasibility of actually building it in the
real world has to be determined before orders are placed. RPI has a
skilled and talented team of manufacturing professionals, but even we
have to obey the laws of physics. Before an order for a new product
is placed, our Engineers can analyze parts or assemblies and identify
any potential red flags so we can assist our customers in finding
the
best possible solutions
Our
Engineering staff has
a significant amount of
experience in modifications and re-designs with the specific goal of
cost reduction. RPI can assist with the selection of the most
cost-effective materials, manufacturing practices, finishing options
and shipping methods to help maximize our customer's profit
potentials. Reducing a part cost by even a few cents can add up to
hundreds or thousands of dollars in savings over time, and no avenue
will go unexplored in seeking out your best price.
RPI's Engineers exclusively use the most current version of
SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD software. SolidWorks file formats are preferred;
however, we can accept files in most 3D CAD supported formats (IGES,
STEP, etc.) as well as 2D formats (DXF, DWG). Adobe PDF files are
preferred for all drawing packages. Even if you only have a sketch on
a notepad or an idea in your head, RPI's Engineering Staff can work
with you!
